Serpentine Spring

As the ground thaws, many homeowners are surprised to find that their lawns have been a hibernation den for the urban street snake. Usually they will just awaken and slither languidly off to their summer breeding grounds. Sometimes, however, particularly in a cold spring, they will coil about the house, trapping the unsuspecting residents inside for a week or two until things warm up.
